about me

This blog is for creative entrepreneurs, healers, activists and freedom fighters who are stuck in the Dip.

The Dip is…

  • that hidden space between the excitement of starting a new project and the fun of celebrating your accomplishments.
  • the frustrating, lonely, discouraging place we rarely talk about because we’re ashamed to be there.
  • the point where we feel stuck, discouraged and ready to give up on our dreams, goals and ideas.

“the reason so many of us quit in the Dip is that without a compass or a plan, the easiest thing to do is to give up.” – seth godin

I can help you find your inner compass and map your way through the Dip. In this blog I’ll share my personal experiences of navigating the ups & downs in my life; interviews with soul-powered sistas who’ve created remarkable businesses by surviving their entrepreneurial dips & tips and tools that make the journey a little smoother and easier.

about me

Strangers and friends can tell me things they’ve never told anyone before. This has led to 2 things:  1. My drive to be part of social justice work to end the violence that happens in the dark behind closed doors.  And 2.  My desire to learn how we heal and grow through our pain.

Over the past 13 years, I’ve worked as a health/sexuality educator, HIV counselor, girls empowerment facilitator, local organizer, teacher, trainer, program coordinator, youth educator, curriculum writer, nonprofit consultant, doula, holistic health counselor and program manager.

In the midst of that I survived a severe depression, became a single mother, designed earrings for fun and rode the roller coaster of being a part-time entrepreneur.

I also found like-minded freedom lovers and experimented with 2 childcare collectives, an all-female crew of hip-hop freestylers, a group of aspiring community doulas, and an all-woman crew of socially-conscious filmmakers.

These rich experiences taught me more than I could ever learn in a school.

My work with social justice groups teaches me to respect the power and value of each person.

As a doula and holistic health counselor, I witnessed the magic of birth, healing and transformation.  I learned how to help people create a vision of what they really wanted then inspire them to trust their inner compass to guide them there.

My creative work teaches me to honor my intuition, own my voice and share my story without apology.

And the past 10 years as a part-time entrepreneur guided me to find the right blend of practical spirituality and conscious business skills necessary to find clients and make money.

I became a coach because I enjoy working closely with people and witnessing them bring forth their deepest desires.

I’m great at creating maps, teasing out your buried wants and helping you trust your inner GPS again.

If we work together, I’ll support you in having what you most want and enjoy the journey of getting it.

Like a parent teaching their child to ride a bike, I’ll hold you steady while you pedal.  And long before you realize I’ve let go, you’ll be well on your way.

One of my favorite Yogi tea quotes is:  “The purpose of life to to enjoy every moment.”

If you’re ready to enjoy every moment of your ride, contact me to learn more.
